What Is LawFit?

LawFit Challenge: Fitness for Duty

Since 2002, the National LawFit Challenge has set the standard for what it truly means to be "fit to serve." This is not just a competition—it’s a proving ground where only the strongest, fastest, and most resilient law enforcement officers claim victory.

Are you ready to step up?

This premier fitness challenge is where elite officers from across the nation go head-to-head, pushing their limits in strength, endurance, and tactical readiness. Each summer, DeSoto County, Mississippi, becomes the battleground where law enforcement agencies compete for the coveted title of "Most Fit Law Enforcement Agency in the Country."

Do You Have What It Takes?

The LawFit Challenge is not for the average—it’s for those who demand more from themselves and their team. The competition consists of six grueling events that test raw power, cardiovascular endurance, and real-world job performance:

Strength & Flexibility

Bench Press – 1-rep max based on body weight percentage

Pull-Ups – Strict form, no kipping

One-Minute Sit-Ups – Core strength under pressure

Sit & Reach – Flexibility matters in the fight

Cardiovascular Endurance

1.5-Mile Run – Speed, stamina, and sheer willpower

Work Performance (Job-Related Combat Readiness)

200-Yard Agility Course – Includes a ditch jump, wall climb, stair run, window entry, officer rescue, suspect apprehension & handcuffing, and simulated shooting.

With age- and gender-adjusted scoring, every competitor stands a fair chance—but only the best will dominate. Compete individually or as part of a two- or four-person team and prove your department's commitment to excellence, readiness, and peak performance.

The Challenge Has Been Issued. Who Will Answer?

Some agencies train for the job. Others train for the fight. The LawFit Challenge separates those who talk about fitness from those who live it. Will your agency rise to the challenge, or will you be watching from the sidelines?
